The following seven critical maintenance methods can help you increase the service life of your piston and save money on maintenance.
1. Use high-quality hydraulic oil and change it regularly.
High-quality hydraulic oil effectively lubricates the piston and reduces wear.
2.Avoid empty hitting (impact).
Empty striking will cause the piston to bear excessive recoil force, resulting in distortion or damage:
Control the working pressure and minimize overloading.
High pressure accelerates piston wear and reduces its life.
4. Check the wear of the piston regularly.
Check the piston’s surface for scratches and cracks, and measure its diameter on a regular basis. If the wear exceeds the tolerance range (often within 0.1mm), it must be replaced promptly.
5. Install the piston correctly to prevent eccentric wear.
During installation, ensure that the piston is coaxial with the cylinder to avoid uneven wear. To avoid scratches, use specific equipment when installing the seal.
